Every student learns differently, but when students face difficulties understanding a subject, breaking things down to the basics and building backup is a great way to help them work through learning obstacles. Truly understanding a subject is much more valuable than rote memorization. I like to figure out the optimal learning method each student prefers, using graphics for visual learner, for example. I also encourage students to communicate openly and ask questions when I have a question. I let students know that there are no stupid questions, only questions that were never asked. For this to happen, I create a comfortable learning environment, connect with a student, and establish trust. I encourage students to believe in themselves and to take charge of their own success. I tutor students in anatomy and physiology, biology, microbiology, pharmacology, cell biology, and medical terminology. When I have some free time, I enjoy reading, mountain biking, and tennis.
